Mission
To offer every sea lover and boating enthusiast in Puerto Rico the best seamanship and boat operation education for their enjoyment of boats and related sports with safety, confidence, proficiency and knowledge.
Goal
- To provide a year round and island wide educational program on the best practices in boat operations.
- To protect our marine and coastal natural resources.
- To promote nautical tourism.
- To strengthen the local boating industry.
- To provide our young sailors the opportunity to experience one of our natural beauties: our coast thru boating.
The Certification
BOSS partnered with National Associations focused on Nautical Education: NASBLA, US SAILING and US POWERBOATING. By complying with the Standards of these Organizations as well as those established under the United Nations Resolution 40, our BOSS – BOAT OPERATOR AND SEAMANSHIP SCHOOL Certification of Completion will have national and international acceptance and recognition, as well as from the USCG.
Certifications
After successfully completing the Course Requirements Students receive:
- BOSS’s ‘Certificate of Completion of the BOAT OPERATION Course’
- NASBLA Course Completion Card
- US SAILING’s Certification Sticker for Association’s Logbook.
These credentials will be accepted and recognized by:
Boat Rental Companies in Puerto Rico, the Continental US, as well as in Europe and Boat Insurance Companies.
Sea Time registered in the US SAILING Association Logbook will be accepted by the US Coast Guard towards their licensing requirements and process.
